Indonesia First WordCamp 2009
it’s a good news for me and also for all indonesian blogger who’s fans of WordPress and developer, because Matt Mullenweg as founder of WordPress and writes a popular blog Photo Matt will come to jakarta , what is WordCamp? WordCamp is a conference type of event that focuses squarely on everything WordPress. Everyone from casual end users all the way up to core developers show up to these events. These events are usually highlighted by speeches or keynotes by various people.
According to the event organizer of WordCamp Indonesia, Valent Mustamin, this event will be held on January 17th-18th, 2009 (currently looking for a suitable venue), Jakarta and Registration will be available beginning on Saturday, November 1st, 2008. And available via online registration only. This a 2-day conference and Its a wonderful ways of getting to know fellow WordPress fans and bloggers especially in Indonesia, recently in indonesia also celebrate blogger days called “Pesta Blogger 2008” the largest national-scale bloggers’ gathering in Indonesia and the schedule will be delay on november. i think its a big momentum for indonesian blogger to give a contribution towards for society.
“Indonesian government and Department of Communications and Informatics firmly believes in giving as much freedom as possible for bloggers to voice their thoughts, feelings, and opinions through their blogs. Freedom is one of the conditions needed to let creativity grow. We believe that bloggers have a positive contribution towards society, thus, to us, the most important thing is to support any form of positive activities conducted by bloggers that can have a wide impact to the society,” said the Minister of Communications and Informatics of The Republic of Indonesia, Muhammad Nuh
