Mena Arkansas Tornado Update

I just heard about a Tornado has touched Down in Mena, Arkansas via twitter grid. Since there are already news releases it looks like it is true. A spokeswoman for the state Emergency Management Department says a tornado has touched down in downtown Mena. Renee Preslar says the Polk County Courthouse took “a direct hit” from the storm that struck just after 8 p.m. Thursday night. Several counties in central Arkansas are under tornado warnings as this storm system moves to the east. Large sized hail and high winds have been common with these storms.
A gas station employee in Mena also tells KARK that the city is completely without power. The National Weather Service says the confirmed tornado moved into Mena from the west along Highway 8. The NWS also says it has received reports of a house damaged with windows blown out, trees down and power outages. There are also law enforcement reports of damage along County Road 74 north of Ink in Polk County, and trees down on Highway 8, west of Mena.
