Mac App Store Review and Solution to Buy Apps with iTunes Gift Card

Yesterday, On January 6th Steve Jobs announced the opening of new stores for Mac Users (mac / macbook / imac), which was named Mac Apps Store. And the time to Update my Macbook Pro software, the latest update after 30 minutes had finished installing and then Awesome!

Apparently Mac Apps Store separate from the iTunes Store, its has own application and directly plugged in the Dock

I open it immediately and wow cool! it likes iTunes, there’s Top Apps, Free Apps and paid Apps. And also there is iMovie 11 Apps and Angry Birds on the Mac App Store, Very Cool! want to download it because iMovie 11 has really cool features like a Hollywood-style trailer that featured like in the box office movies.

Also the price is reasonably at $ 14.99 for iMovie 11 other than if you bought iLife ’11 for $ 49.00 single user or family pack $ 79.00 via the Apple Store Web site. Indeed, if we calculated iPhoto 11+ iMovie 11 + Garage Band 11 approximately $ 45 (15 × 3) but here we can buy one apps at a time depending on the function of each Apps.

I decided to purchase those Mac Apps, but the balance of my itunes account remaining only $ 0.66, oh no i need to add the fund. To add some fund to your itunes account actually easy if you have a credit card the problem solved easily. But since i don’t have any Credit Card, so i looking an iTunes Gift Card that can be redeem. I began to contact the iTunes Gift Card seller because i’ve been purchased some gift card before but what happened i can’t reach the seller because he is offline. and then i found at Amazon who’s selling iTunes Gift Card from a nominal $ 10, $ 15, $ 25, $ 50 etc.But Itunes Gift Card which he sold in physical form (card) and do not serve to the shipping in Indonesia.

Fortunately, I found on Kaskus FJB (Indonesia buying and selling forum) finally find sellers who sell itunes gift card, he was selling a nominal $ 50, i purchased from him. After that I Redeem the iTunes Gift Card and look my balance added some fund about $50. ? And it’s time to buy the apps. Actually many alternative places to purchase itunes gift card is even easier using Paypal like on eBay etc.

The first application I tried to buy the Angry Bird for Mac, automatically logged on using my iTunes account and it’s was unsuccesfully because i must to enter my billing address which must be matched with the address on Credit Card, because originally I made an account using U.S. iTunes gift card. In the Mac App Store there is no optional (. none) like the one in iTunes billing address. There was only option Credit Card info and also Paypal. The Paypal account must be U.S. based account. oh no

I leaved it and just closed the Mac App Store. and directly open the iTunes on my macbook pro and i think the better way to use my balance just purchased the songs. Yeah! i buy the Ultimate Album of Kenny G which price $ 9.99. Just click buy this album and log into iTunes. Suddenly appear pages Terms of Service, regarding the new policy for the user. After I read it, the new rules, it will applying too in the Mac App Store, one of TOS is related to billing address too. I select “Agree”.

Well, i have known why I can not buy the apps through the Mac Apps Store using the iTunes account. So, The New Term Of Service (TOS) must be approved first before using your iTunes account to the Mac Apps Store.

I try to open Mac Apps Store again, and trying to buy Angry Bird Apps for Mac, I logged in with my iTunes account. And look what happened? Wow … I can download the Angry Bird Apps and iMovie 11 … That Awesome!!
